Addison Precision manufacture premium products with high-quality materials. They needed to ensure that their tool measurement technology matched this premium standard to achieve the accuracy and detail of their products.
Addison Precision were looking to upgrade their tool presetting solution, and made contact with ZOLLER UK to explore their tool management solutions.
“Our customers expect that we deliver parts to a schedule, on-time, right-first-time, every time,” said Don Hopper, Special Projects Manager at Addison Precision. “We started researching into tool presetting equipment so we would have the capability to measure tools built into an assembly prior to us putting them anywhere near a machine. We use a lot of PCD tooling which, if you touch them with metal you can damage the tool, so a contactless measurement system was absolutely brilliant for us.”

Using the Venturion 450, we can not only measure the cutting tool and its surfaces but we can also measure whether the tool holder is the correct diameter and if it has the right amount of tool reach. It is a big step forward for us,” said Don.
